JORGE VELIZ, MD

Jorge Raul Veliz Cruz, born in Guatemala February 7, 1953, Naturalized US Citizen, graduated Medical Doctor from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala in 1976, completed psychiatric training at the Nebraska Psychiatric Institute in Omaha, NE, studied crosscultural psychiatry in Paris, France (1980-81), Forensic Psychiatry at the Bridgewater-McLean Hospital Harvard University program (1981-83), became Medical Director of Bridgewater State Hospital, in 1994 founded Correctional Psychiatric Services, in 2007 co-founded Boston Clinical Consulting, in 2009 co-founded Mederi Hospital (Psychiatric Hospital in Guatemala). Author of CPS mental health and medical care computer medical records program EHRs-C.  CFI (certified flight instructor certificate for helicopters),  achieved first degree black belt in Kempo karate, did complete the Boston Marathon in 1985.
